The ultrasound-based sight |
| We are able to see the surroundings because we have an apparatus which is capable to detect the light reflected by the objects. | |
Two elements are fundamental: one is the propagating radiation reflecting on the objetcts and the other is the apparatus which is capable to detect and to elaborate the reflected component of the radiation. The radiation is the visible component of the light. It is characterized by a very high repeating frequency (400-790 teraHertz) and an extremely high speed of propagation ( 300,000 Km/sec or 1,080,000,000 km/h). |
Our eyesight is capable to examine the details of the objects and to perceive the three dimensional aspect of the space, but it is unable to look inside the opaqe objects, like the human body. |
